Paul Maier injects history into the Biblical reports. The parchment biographies had limitations. Maier's facts illuminate the sacred story. Fleshing the characters makes the story more comprehensible. Very well done. Thank you Paul Maier, scholar extrodinaire.

I totally enjoyed this book. It gave me a clear understanding of the people that were a part of the Lenten story. The book was a great enhancement to my Lenten Devotion reading. Cannot wait for the next one.
